The convention-breaking Rio continues to evolve, packing new technology and smart style into a practical subcompact sedan.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2021 Rio is available in two trim levels: the LX, which has a MSRP of under $16,050, and the S, which is priced about $1,000 higher.
For 2021, the Rio has an I-4 1.6L engine, which achieves 120 horsepower and 112 pound-feet of torque. Also, the iVT transmission comes standard, further increasing the Rio’s already stellar fuel efficiency.
Bold strokes and strong lines give Rio an aerodynamic profile with modern details and just-right proportions, all sitting stylishly on optional 15-inch alloy wheels. The 33 City MPG and 11.9 gallon fuel tank capacity will keep you going for weeks.
Take a seat in the Rio’s stylish and spacious cabin, with comfort that’s personalized to you. Settle in with plush seating, a standard 6-way, manually adjustable driver’s seat, and available automatic temperature control. The rest of your essential controls are close within reach via the standard 8.0-inch touch-screen display.
Reinforced with 30% more advanced high-strength steel for increased rigidity, the Rio is built to be strong—and to help protect you and your passengers in a variety of situations. Rio’s advanced airbag system features dual front, side, and side curtain airbags, as well as sensors that can detect the level of certain impacts and the presence of a front-seat passenger.
