The 2022 Kia Sportage arrives with a fresh exterior, available all-wheel drive, a number of standard driver-assistance features, and the stunningly sleek Sportage Nightfall Edition Trim.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2022 model year Sportage now comes in four trim packages. Its mid-range package is called the LX, and like the other three levels it’s available in both front wheel and all-wheel drive. Prices range from around $24,100 for the LX to just under $34,000 for the most deluxe trim package, the SX Turbo.
The Sportage runs on one of two available engines. The standard is a 2.4-liter inline 4-cylinder making 181 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque, which can be found on the LX, Nightfall, and EX models. Also available is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder making 240 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque on the SX Turbo.
The 2022 Kia Sportage reflects its name with sharp handling and optional turbo power. It’s a smooth ride for a compact crossover thanks to taut handling and optional turbo power. Sportage’s responsive steering and balanced handling help it feel composed on winding roads. The ride is comfortable too, with the suspension easily soaking up road flaws. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available.

Sportage is made with high-tensile strength steel alloys to improve rigidity.
